Utopia Foodworks Pvt. Ltd.

R&D Lab

Product development for food and beverage brands.

Our lab takes a product from brief to a recipe a factory can run. We work on new products and on reformulating existing ones.

What we develop

Three categories, one bench. Each one needs a different eye.

  • Beverages

Ready-to-drink beverages, liquid concentrates, water enhancers and functional drinks. Our own product, bev., came out of this work.

  • Foods

Snacks, premixes and everyday food products, built around your format, price point and shelf life.

  • Nutraceuticals

Health supplement powders, energy gels and fortified products, formulated with the regulations in mind from the first draft.

What the lab does

Everything between an idea and a production spec.

  • Bench prototyping

We turn your brief into working samples in the lab, and keep refining them until they match what you had in mind.

  • Sensory evaluation

Structured tasting rounds on taste, texture and aftertaste, so decisions rest on feedback rather than guesswork.

  • Shelf life and stability

We check how the product holds up over its intended shelf life, and adjust the formula where it doesn’t.

  • Cost engineering

Ingredient choices and sourcing that keep the cost per unit inside your target price.

  • Reformulation

Less sugar, a cleaner label, a lower cost or a new flavour: we rework existing recipes without losing what people liked.

  • Scale-up and tech transfer

Production specs and process notes your plant can follow, so the first factory batch tastes like the last lab sample.

How a project runs

The lab work sits inside a bigger path, from brief to plant.

  1. Brief

Your target consumer, price point, claims and format.

  2. Bench

Lab prototypes and tasting rounds until it's right.

  3. Pilot

Small batch runs to check stability and cost.

  4. Paperwork

    Category mapping, ingredient statements, licences.

  5. Plant

Handover to a licensed plant for production.
